Day 26
We are having amazing spring like weather here in sunny Colorado. My goal on these warm days is to get Tate outside for just a bit of vitamin sunshine. But today wasn’t the day yet.
Last night an additional fentanyl patch was added and this morning the dilaudid dose was cut in 1/2. It takes 3 days for a new patch to get to full strength, which means there’s increased pain during the transition. Tate is showing GI distress and just feeling overall lousy.
Pain did come in with a fun surprise today. Chc is part of studies and research on Virtual Reality for non opioid pain management. Today Tate got to try out a VR and then was gifted one by an organization called Starlight Children's Foundation. What an incredible gift!! I know this will be a great tool for Tate to help manage this unrelenting pain. Thank you so so much for giving Tate a fun way to help her manage her pain and for an escape from all the medical stress!
Tate got a visit from Cole and Ruffles. And Ruffles got a nap in. She is hilarious and typically doesn’t want to leave when it’s time to go. We love that she’s so comfortable in our space.
We don’t have a surgery slot yet to pull the line and get the bone marrow biopsy. We’re now hoping for Thursday. For tonight, Tate is “babysitting” our little friend, Remi’s, ladybug. So cute!
