Transplant +2
Day 64
Transplant +2
I was hoping to give you a more interesting photo today but this is literally the summary of Tate’s day. She is exhausted. Battling nausea and diarrhea constantly. Increased pain today and headache. She has a spreading rash and there’s lots of labs they’re watching closely. She’s still unable to take anything by mouth. Tpn & lipids provide her with IV nutrition and all meds are either IV or put through her G-tube in her stomach. She isn’t able to participate in PT or OT as of yet. If you’ve messaged her, she’s only held her phone for about 5 minutes since Feb 22nd.
Positives are that her BP has stabilized to just slightly high and sometimes normal. So far she hasn’t developed mucositis, although I’m told it’s coming, and although she is really sick, her team is pleased that so far she’s doing better than anticipated and she’s still on the bmt floor over the ICU! Tate is subdued and doesn’t say much more than to ask for meds or ice/heat or to go to the bathroom. Our room is void of normal teen sounds but still filled with provider and caregiver visits and all things medical. The good stuff is coming! We are in the trenches waiting for her body to decide what happens next. ❤️🩹 It’s surprisingly draining.
