Day 1 of Ablation
Day 56
Transplant day -7
Day 1 of ablation. The transplant countdown is a negative down to zero which will be transplant day. From that point on, you count forward.
Chemo was quick…just 30 minutes. She got melphalan today. She’s been sleeping but nausea has already set in. She’s limited on options as she’s been on two of the most common for months. Zofran no longer works and the scopolamine patch isn’t cutting it. That one also has to come off starting tomorrow. They were saving one called kytrel that historically is great for Tate. My guess is it’d be a lot worse without it. Benadryl and compazine are left which didn’t help much. But…she’s hanging in there.
Tomorrow starts a chemo called thiotepa. It’s excreted through the skin and can cause severe burns. So…to prevent that, clothing options are a gown and she’ll need to shower and change all linens and clothing every 6 hours around the clock for the following few days. Kind of tough when you’re not feeling great. Tate can do hard things.❤️🩹
Thank you for all the encouragement and support and love with the big hair event yesterday. It truly helps so very much!
