Surgery to remove Tate’s central line and collect the bone marrow biopsy went well. But she’s already missing that central line. She came out with an additional extended catheter IV on her R arm to go with the “old” peripheral IV on her left. But the new one instantly gave her trouble and the “old” one petered out about 5 minutes into her infusion. So….the vascular team came back up with ultrasound and put two more new ones into Tate’s right arm. Between the Lovenox shots and all these access points, Tatum’s bruises have lots of tales to tell.
Tate’s beloved hematologist performed the bone marrow biopsy and thinks results should be in early next week.
Sunday is Tate’s 3 year transplant birthday! In lots of ways, this really is hard to believe. But seeing the memories, it all floods back. Such a difficult process to go through, but why Tate is with us today. Thank you to our dear Patrick. And on March 13, Tatum turns 18!!
