We are home! Thankful for the family time and creature comforts found only at home. While Tate still has lots to work through, my heart feels heavy tonight for so many sweet friends who are suffering both inpatient and out. Chloe & Lilly, Kody and Tates new friend, Adlyn. This hem/onc/bmt world is so tough. It’s filled with so much heartache. And hidden underneath every small win is the damage both physically and emotionally. There’s something equivalent to “survivors guilt” as you watch treatments not work or see the undercurrent of emotional trauma that affects both patients and caregivers alike while you get to experience discharge or see signs of improving health. Tonight, while I thank God for Tates small wins, my heart hurts for our friends. We you Chloe, Lilly, Kody and Adlyn. You are in our constant conversations with the one who plans all of our paths.
