I’m playing catch up on updates. Some are memories I want to preserve and some are for you all.
Yesterday, Keira had a video appt with one of her neurosurgeons at Mayo. She still is struggling with migraines, memory issues, twitches and nausea. Thankfully no vomiting for over a week! We are headed back to FL for a complete workup in June. She’ll have appointments with neuro cognitive, neuro oncology, and migraine specialists. Once sorted, Mayo will connect her with the needed colleagues here in Denver. So so thankful for this. I cannot get her into neurology in the adult world. Children’s has been more than willing with our connections through Tate, but we need someone that can take her into the future. GI will still happen here as well as neuro cognitive therapy.
Among others, Tate saw nephrology today. It’s a beautiful clinic in the kidney center. We love our new nephrologist, Dr. Hanna. She was wearing a dress covered in butterflies today. A perfect match! Tates blood pressure is still running higher than they’d like, so BP meds were increased and she’ll head into a kidney biopsy next week once we’re back from traveling. Her basic labs looked so good today. We’ve added this new kidney angle, but her basic counts have improved dramatically. So thankful for this! We’ll take the wins to balance the challenges. Oh, and Tate met a new prescription pet today…..Fluffy. Always makes appointment days better!
We’re traveling again! Our eldest, TJ is graduating from college in Milwaukee. Our last trip there was spent inpatient at Milwaukee Children’s. Tates ready for a successful do-over.
We’re getting good at navigating this medical travel. This trip I’m on my own until we arrive as Tim is teaching at the seminary and K went early for some extra fun. I wouldn’t mind an extra prayer or a couple extra hands. Luggage and wheelchairs and fluids are a lot to manage. But we’ll be good as Tate and I make a good team.
Some pics of our fun weekend with the Stevenson’s (baby Chloe’s family) and another vacation memory.
