1 year + Keira Update
Keira got home yesterday afternoon. So nice to have her back. She started vomiting about 11:30 pm. It continued to ramp up despite zofran and was worse when lying down. All not good signs Post brain surgery esp. In combination with symptoms she continues to deal with post surgery. K has an appointment with the chair of neurosurgery at Children’s next week, so that’s where I took her at 1 am…..to the main campus ar Children’s. It took until 4:30 am to get the vomiting to stop where she could lie still for a Ct scan. Scan looked good but she still needs an mri. Thankfully we had one scheduled already for tonight at 8 PM. That meant we avoided admission and waiting for an mri there. We rolled into our driveway at 7 am where keira proceeded to vomit more. A long night, but she’s been sleeping well since. We are SO encouraged by the CT as the chc team said they were ready for hydrocephalus. We’re not sure what is going on as this resembles episodes pre surgery, but are thankful to get it under control with meds and that she wasn’t acutely in danger.
