Post Transplant Day 321

16 days post brain surgery

This weekend was filled with so much fun with Aunt Jen and the girls. We did something for a few hours each day. Friday was shark tooth beach. We weren’t so lucky with too many shark teeth this time but did see a sunset wedding proposal being set up! Saturday was a dolphin boat tour where we saw lots of dolphin, including two sets of mom with a baby. Tate was so thrilled! Her original Make A Wish that was granted 4 years ago was to swim with dolphins in Hawaii. That was changed to a rush wish so we’re fulfilling the dolphin dreams on our own time. Getting to see them really close was so fun. Swimming with them is still on the bucket list!

Sunday (today) we went and got pedicures while the girls had their nails done. Fun to feel a little pampered and Tate says pretty nails make up for her short hair.

We have eaten so much delicious food! Apparently Tate just needed to be able to order off restaurant menus as she’s been able to eat so well!

Keira had her CT on Friday. We haven’t heard officially, but the report I read sounds good. It’s slightly disconcerting to read about the “damage” that is explained by burr holes and drain tunnels, but also remarkable that there isn’t more from a major brain surgery. K still battles daily headaches and fatigue but is learning how to pace and nap when she needs to. She’s a little frustrated with the mental fatigue but it should continue to improve. She’s doing well only 16 days post surgery!

Tomorrow Jen flies out early, Keira has a 4 hour follow up evaluation from 8-12 at Mayo, we check out of the condo at 10am and fly out at 5:30 pm. Both girls will be spent (maybe all 3!) from a full, long day.

We loved having Jen here and are so glad our last few days were full of fun and memory making!
