That October admission we were hoping to avoid…..we didn’t. Tate spiked a rare fever this afternoon which supported the labs I was concerned about from a couple days ago. She’s felt off for about a week, so I can’t say any of us is too surprised.
We’re of course, always hoping it’s not another blood infection. Blood cultures are pending and if they’re going to be positive, we usually know in the first 24 hours.
They’re running more vancomycin antibiotics here in the ER and will continue them upstairs until we know what we’re dealing with. This is the same antibiotic Tate went home on a few weeks ago. She reacts to it, which is called, Redmans, so she’s also given IV Benadryl with it which makes you super sleepy. Tate welcomes the sleep to combat this migraine and pain. We are so ready to break this every 3 week sepsis cycle.
