Ivig infusion #100….+ (but who’s counting!?) the last two days. At least every three weeks we have two full days to be reminded how incredibly blessed we are to have the medical people in our lives that we do at North campus. We’ve seen them get married and have babies, go to school and earn advanced degrees. We’ve been sad to see loved faces leave and have quickly learned to love new faces. First we were at CCBD Main and then North opened. It’s been years. But every time we come, we’re greeted with the same patience and love and kindness and understanding. Especially now, it’s salve for the open wounds that seem to never heal. The people make every difference. We are grateful. We love them all so much.
Tate ended up with several sores in her mouth and one in her throat from the intubation. A bloody nose that lasted through the night, but a successful dental procedure. Our post anesthesia stay was extended due to high blood pressure so we weren’t home until late Wednesday night. We received a call on our way home from her dentist to check in. I could hear her little ones in the background and was so touched by her calling from home and giving me her cell number “Just in case.” Dr. Grace is one of the owners of Children’s Dentistry Westminster. An amazing human, fabulous dentist and all around top notch facility filled with kindness. Our hearts are filled with gratitude.
This was a full medical week. It feels like based on labs and based on Tate, things are simmering just below the surface once again. This is when we give her body literal pep talks hoping to avoid an October admission. But everyday home is one to be grateful for.
