Tate seemed to gain a little of her spunk back, post adrenal crisis, over the weekend. Grandpa B was here for a quick visit which was a nice distraction.
Neurology called again on Friday and wants a brain MRI due to the ongoing vision struggles and worsening migraines that Tate is experiencing. It’s not a STAT order, so I’m not sure when that will take place. Friday, I also spoke with Tate’s pain Dr. Tatum will be admitted this week for the pain pump trial, but the details surrounding it have shifted. Instead of a 4 day admission with an epidural and lots of tweaking, we’re now planning on just an intrathecal injection (in her spine) and 24 hours to watch for no respiratory depression. This option was chosen over the epidural as her pain is too diffuse. She won’t receive any significant relief from the injection, but should be enough to tell if the pump will work. From there, surgery will be scheduled with the neurosurgeon. Actual admit day for next week is still TBD. I’d love it if it coordinates with the care conference on Tuesday. In the meantime, we carry on with all the weekly therapies.
