Day 89
Post BMT +26
Today was quite a mix. Tim and Keira were planning on coming down by lunchtime. Keira was given a once a month pass for two hours as restrictions are still in place. Our pup, Copper ended up with pancreatitis. So once they got her settled, K came down to the hospital about 3. She got to wake Tate up. It was so great having Keira here. There were some smiles and even some laughter from Tate. It felt so good! The girls were able to get through a few more Birthday gifts.
It was obvious Tate was quickly tiring. She did eat a little quesadilla triangle! It felt like a huge win! This morning, her team agreed to turn off the tpn & lipids (IV nutrition) for 48 hours to see if it helps the nausea. We also added in thc drops to try to help as well. I thought for sure this combination was going to be a game changer. As the evening wore on, Tate was feeling worse. Her temp started to climb & her BP required rescue meds. She fell asleep looking like a pink snow bunny at 8 pm until she started vomiting. And vomiting. And vomiting . It is so hard not to ride the emotional roller coaster that comes with this all.
Once again, her body just isn’t willing to accept any food and just gets ornery with any changes. I’m praying this low grade temperature doesn’t turn into anything significant. As I lay next to her rubbing her back as she moves restlessly beside me, cycling from hot to cold, I feel so helpless. We’re trying to wait for things to calm back down to re-dose all the meds she threw up. We’ll likely end up switching most back to IV. At least for the night. Two steps back. ❤️🩹
