ICU Day 7
I’m so thankful that ICU nursing is 1 to 1. I needed all the help i could get last night. To have our own nurse sitting on the other side of a glass wall has been necessary and helpful!
Tate didn’t sleep at all last night. Having her nurse right there allowed me to feel like I could periodically close my eyes for a few minutes throughout the night as she could come in the second Tate needed something. Tates confusion continued and she needed a lot of redirection when she’d try to “leave” her bed and room. Tate often has to be told where she is. She’s almost always wanting a way out.
Today consisted of much of the same. We are holding and weaning meds to try to find the source of the visual and auditory hallucinations. She rested more during the day today, so I am praying she can sleep tonight..
Package and card senders: Tate has received several packages and many beautiful cards. Thank you! Because of Tate feeling so poorly and unable to participate in opening, we’ve put all the packages and gifts aside to open when she’s feeling better during her big Birthday Celebration! Thank you for loving her so well!
