It’s amazing how much can change in less than 24 hours but also shows how pushing just a little too much is…sometimes too much. Tate is back in the hospital.
Yesterday was such a fun day. Tate rallied and enjoyed time with a special friend and had her first taste of a crawfish boil. She crashed on the way home and had a rough night with pain that carried over into today (Tuesday.)
A call to Tate’s pain Dr. in addition to another day of super low blood pressure and they had us bring her in. In the meantime, I tried getting her BP up with steroids and fluids and it wouldn’t budge. In the ER, it took 5 times her normal stress dose to get her blood pressure high enough to get her up to the floor rather than the ICU. We’ll take that win!
It’s been a little rough already as they are holding Tate’s IT pump boluses and trying other pain meds while they slowly tease through one thing at a time. This could go quickly if we figure it out right away or this could take some time.
We have an awesome overnight attending and I have a very sad, hurting Tate. This is going to take some patience on all our parts. It gets a little more difficult to come back every admission. Praying for meds to help ease pain and just a little sleep.
