Lots of outpatient care coordination today with the hope that Tate’s labs look good enough tomorrow for discharge. I “met” our new homecare nurse on the phone and I think she’ll be a great fit for our family. Her current purpose is just weekly lab draws and central line support should I want it, but I appreciate having another resource.

The hospital was so busy today with a shopping opportunity for the inpatient parents and lots of visitors and volunteers. It really was a generous opportunity especially for families with younger kiddos to choose Christmas presents for their kids-all donated! So many toys and games and even bikes found new homes!

I got a call from TJ while he was in his Ortho appointment for his broken wrist. He thought he was getting a cast today. After further x rays, he was told he needs surgery to place a plate and pins.…tomorrow morning. It’s already been a week and they don’t want to have to re-break it. I’m not at all happy with how it was handled up to this point. But I feel confident in this hand surgeon who happened to have a cancellation for tomorrow. God worked that one out! Please keep him and the medical team in your prayers. I’m so grateful for his sweet Meg who will take great care of him. You just never stop being a mama.

My mom had her first chemo today and did well! She’ll need lots more prayers in the coming days and weeks.
