Day 73

Happy Palm Sunday! In the hospital atrium today I snapped a photo of a group of adults with their heads bowed in prayer with their arms around one another. I had an opportunity to share some tears and a hug with a struggling mom in the kitchen while filling up Tate’s ice bags. I had a conversation with a sweet mama of 3 with a 4th due in 2 months. Her 3 year old is fighting cancer. Another family, who stepped off 7th floor (hem/oncology,) found strength knowing Tate was on the other side of a bone marrow transplant. Suffering brings people together. And it’s through people that Gods love is most easily felt. I’m so grateful for our people. And grateful for all the prayers and love through Tates Tribe.

Tate’s day was full for a Saturday. She walked a full loop around our unit and went to the zone for sand art. She worked on a vision board with one of our NP’s and took a couple naps too.

Tomorrow is a new team again. Mondays are my least favorite day in the hospital and my favorite day out of the hospital. Here….a new team, which means a repeat of the conversations we’ve been having now for weeks. A getting to know you period, and new personalities. Out…..I always thought of Monday as a fresh week, a restart and another chance for all the things. All these things come with hospital Mondays too. It just feels very different.

We are really hoping that this Monday brings some new conversations that result in a solid plan to get us home.
