Today was a miracle of a day! Last night, Tates bleeding looked as bad as ever. This morning we were hesitant that it looked better. As the day went on, it was evident that the bleeding was stopping and by tonight, surgery is canceled!!!! If her cultures remain negative through tomorrow afternoon, we can go home! Tate is having more L kidney pain so we are praying everything holds. But wow! What a quick turnaround!
The kids all came today and got in on a little Bingo action. And Keira pretty much had an on the spot interview for a cna position. It was actually amazing to watch it unfold as our nurse, who’s been on this floor for 26 years, went to get his manager to meet Keira. She still has to submit her resume and do an official interview, but it was a God filled day for sure. Yesterday, Keira had one of the most difficult, emotion filled days I’ve seen her have since she had brain surgery. She had her first cognitive therapy and it was hard. Really hard. And eye opening and concerning. It had her questioning everything she thought she had planned for her future. Not easy at 18 when the rest of your peers are moving on without you. There was lots of tears-not common with Keira. And today, God pulled her in and wrapped his arms around her, reminding her that he’s got it all planned out for her. She (we) just need to trust his path. It was truly amazing to watch unfold. When the manager walked out, Drew just said, “Wow! I can’t believe that just all happened.” Keira just smiled with brimming eyes. So many tangibles to give thanks for today.
