WOW! Thank You!Thank You!
Drumroll total for Round Up River Ranch……$5,442.63 Our goal was to sponsor 1 camper at $3,000 but we almost sponsored 2! You all are amazing!! (I’m going to leave the link for 1 more day just to see if we can squeak up to 2 campers. )
Tate is headed back to camp in August. Not as a “camper” but hoping to contribute by sharing her story again for the Grateful Harvest Gala BIG fundraiser. This is the main fundraiser for the year and is an incredible honor for Tate to be asked to participate in and have the opportunity to give back again in this way. It’s held on the camp property and we’ll go for the whole weekend where she’ll get a bit of a do-over to experience some camp activities with Keira in tow and get to spend time with some of her favorite camp faces. We are so thankful and excited for the opportunity!
Medically, Tate has been fighting to stay home from hospital admissions. Her “counts” (labs looking at her cell lines) continue to be poor and in addition she’s had some blood pressure scares as low as 62/42. Typically this lands you in the ICU, but whether right or wrong, we’ve gotten good at managing with steroids and IV fluids at home and thankfully, her body responds. This of course, scares her Dr’s, and they’d rather have eyes on her, but we think it’s related to Tate’s adrenal insufficiency and possibly weaning her stress dose steroids. Home is healing. (And her mom is fiercely stubborn at times.) Shes also at very high risk for infection so I avoid the ER as much as possible. Her nighttime pain has increased again as she falls asleep covered in ice packs and she’s pushing hard to continue to keep and gain muscle strength, but is a tired girl. She’s working on increasing her nighttime J tube fluid (causes nausea) to hopefully reduce her daily IV fluid needs. Always working towards the things that seem simple to most of us. So proud of her grit.
We are driving to WI early next week for TJ and Meg’s wedding and feeling slightly uneasy with travel on the medical end. But, we are so excited too and have a great medical center with Milwaukee Children’s if we run into trouble.
Thank you for all the continued love and support and prayers. We love our Tribe.
