For not actually feeling the greatest the last couple days, Tate ended up having a pretty great day.

Meg came for OT and started Tates day at noon with mixing up iced coffees and whipped cream catching in the back yard. Meg’s creativity and flexibility is the best. The giggles were much needed.

Tate has really been struggling again with blood pressure and temperature regulation and heart rate. She had a YAC (youth advisory committee) party at the hospital tonight that has been on our calendar and a goal for weeks now. I wasn’t sure she’d get there. There’s been lots of back and forth with docs about high blood pressures and Tate narrowly avoided a re-admit yesterday.

But…she made the party tonight and had such a fun time with her friends. We don’t often have an opportunity to see her engage with other teens. We are so grateful for the staff that run the program and for inviting Tate to be a part of it. It fills a huge social void for her.

Tomorrow she was scheduled for anesthesia for dental. Due to her wonky blood pressures, the anesthesiologist didn’t feel she was safe to proceed, so she was cancelled….again. I’d rather have her safe and trust their judgment. And really don’t want to risk another admission. After tonight, Tate will likely sleep to recover from tonight anyway, so it all works out. But we’re literally a year from when we first attempted this dental procedure (which has now grown considerably.) we’ll get there. Dental just always takes a back seat.
