We are home! It was a full weekend where Tate found her current limits and surprised us both with how much she could do. Traffic made for a 4+ hr trip there Friday. But the views and location were so beautiful, I enjoyed just being in the mountains for the drive. Dinner and campfire closed out Friday.
Saturday was packed from sunrise fishing to astronomy before bedtime. Tate took 3 naps and had to skip some activities but she did it! She utilized her wheelchair to get through the day, but I saw smiles and giggles and Tatum sparkle that I haven’t seen in so very very long. Today was pack up, breakfast and farewell.
Due to Tates susceptibility, we had an entire cabin to ourselves. We chose from 13 beds! Tate got a kick out of greeting our fake cabin mates each day. Game night was not that exciting, but it made naps easier for Tate.
RRR is amazing! Loved the staff and volunteers! Loved the theme song (Happy Place by Saint Phnx) The location was so beautiful and peaceful and we got to see our favorite PA Karlie, outside of the clinic and hospital. It was exhausting for us both, but in a positive way. I’m so proud of Tatum. Just getting there was an accomplishment. Despite increased stomach pain and just feeling a bit yuck, she pushed through and made some beautiful memories and accomplished more than she knew she could. She wistfully watched the kids run….a goal for camp next summer!
