Keira Update

Keira is in the neuro ICU. She’s safe…they just want to keep her that way. Still vomiting but meds have slowed it down. It was so constant…I’ve actually never seen anything like it, not even through all the nausea/vomiting that comes with chemo and transplant.

CT looked stable enough that they don’t want to put an emergency drain in to treat what would be acute hydrocephalus. But they’re pretty convinced this is all tumor related. They don’t feel it’s safe for her to be walking around so we are here until surgery-which they are trying to move up. We try to keep things in casual perspective, downplaying most scenarios which works well for our mental sanity. But I’m realizing how serious this can be and how quickly things can go south. Keira has an amazing team. So so very thankful we were here already when this happened. Every neurosurgeon on her team contacted me personally while we were still in the ER. I questioned the ICU placement and her neurosurgeon pointed out his outfit and the fact he was wearing running shoes because he said, he literally was running to get here. Thank you Lord for keeping my beautiful K safe.

Thank you for the prayers and sticking with us through this new crazy twist.
