Happy New Year!

My heart was heavy in church this morning thinking of all our friends who are now in heaven. They are happy and healed in a place we can only imagine. It’s the families left behind that I’m praying for. There’s a heaviness that starts a new year when you’re not in a place you’d like. I can only imagine starting this new year with the raw pain of recently losing your child.

The families of Kody, Chloe, Sean and Eli, we are praying for you! And also Tims mom, Sandy as she starts this New Year without Tims dad, Tom. Hold your loved ones close trusting that God has already gone before you to lay the path you are traveling. Praying also for our friends who are still fighting hard. Lilly, Adlyn and Autumn. We love you.

Tomorrow we head to FL. I’m anxious to push out the dread and just get settled. This all came so suddenly but I’m thankful there wasn’t any longer to prepare. The last couple weeks have felt long. Two weeks tomorrow since they found Keira’s tumor. In less than two weeks, she’ll have surgery to remove it. We’re all anxious to be on the other side.

Tate got a haircut today. Her first one. My sweet friend Mary helped create some smiles today. It was surprisingly emotional.

NYE was quiet around here. Tate and I took some fun selfies, we watched some of the festivities on TV, and not one of us stayed up to midnight. It was a hard year. I’m glad to put it behind us but am not yet ready to tackle what’s ahead. Maybe there should be a “regroup” week In between. God Bless you all as you follow God’s path for your New Year.
