Day 38

Tate could use some extra prayers. We’ve been noticing increasing intermittent discoloration in Tate’s L arm since getting her new line on Friday. Tonight the surgeons came in on repeat and sent her down to ultrasound to rule out a blood clot.

Instead…we ruled IN another blood clot. 😢 Almost completely occluded, in two spots, in Tate’s cephalic vein in her L arm this time. She now has clots on both sides despite being on blood thinners. This is concerning and causes all kinds of issues for IV access, blood pressure and adds increased risk of pulmonary embolism. Vas team is on their way again. I’m second guessing the single lumen central line. We chose it to reduce infection risk. But now IV’s pose a whole new risk.

We’re feeling pretty defeated tonight. ❤️‍🩹

On a positive note, I got Tate briefly outside in this summer-like weather. It was fun for a hot minute.
