Day 36
Big news today is Tate got her new central line! All went well. They even used the previous access point meaning one less big scar! Being able to avoid the right side and that blood clot kept the surgeon happy too. Our surgeon today was the same one that put Tates G tube in back in 2021. Happy Tate! The blood thinners have made everyone more cautious with some extra bleeding from the site this evening, but we’re so happy to not have to rely solely on peripheral IV’s.
This afternoon after surgery, we started day two of IVIG. It’ll run until late tonight as it’s a 7 hour infusion for Tate. My guess is the combination of ivig and surgery will have Tate sleeping much of tomorrow. She really appreciated her no pain anesthesia nap and benefited from the extra pain meds. Tonight and tomorrow she’ll be back to her tough reality.
