I feel like prayers were answered in some recent appointments in a completely unexpected way. Friday and today (Monday,) Tate had a bunch of appointments all with a different focus, but almost all of them provided reflection on the really difficult care conference we had a month ago. It’s been a long month. I’ve spent so much time researching , sending emails, sending records, making phone calls, and really just feeling desperate to find some kind of path forward. During that time, we didn’t hear from any of Tates Co team other than genetics & pain. We didn’t necessarily expect to as we’d been told they had nothing more to offer. But it was a big shift from multiple weekly appointments and it was hard. I had written a very raw and heartfelt email that I had hoped would change minds and it ended up getting lost in the sea of messages that these busy folks wade through. And we really haven’t found a good place where Tate can plug in outside of CO either. We felt completely abandoned.
So getting through these appointments this week and hearing that these providers were as caught off guard by the communication in the CC as I was and that there really is only 1 provider who feels everyone should throw their hands up, IS a new direction for us and IS an answer to my prayers through a door that we were told was closed. We were told they may not have answers but are NOT giving up until Tate says so. We are still pursuing further genetic workup, another care conference is in the works with some select providers and lots of labs are pending. The pain pump is still pending as well. And yes, I too am wondering why nobody spoke up in the moment, but will gratefully accept what is being offered now.
Preliminary labs from Friday are showing kidney concern again, which would mean the immunosuppressant Tate was put on 3 months ago to control exactly this, isn’t doing it’s job. We’re really praying this is just an off day with off labs and rechecks will paint a prettier picture.
Overall, we’re feeling a bit of hope again just due to feeling medically supported and not feeling so alone . “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” Eccles. 4:12 Through your prayers, we’re provided this. Thank you!
