Tate had a week full of physical and occupational therapy, virtual and in person appointments and a pain pump refill.
Shes been struggling more and more with increased pain at night. Her pain Dr. diagnosed her with bursitis In both hips and inflamed IT bands down both legs as well as inflamed tendons. It comes from overuse without proper muscle support/strength. Shes come a long way but has really only been out of her wheelchair since June with the addition of the new medication in her IT pump. So her muscles still have a ways to go. Her heart and mind wants to do more, faster! Tate has been pushing hard and unfortunately it’s showing in not so positive ways. This takes a long time to rehab with good muscle support and likely will cause her to backslide without. She’s also 5 months overdue for a GJ feeding tube exchange. So, steroid injections will be combined with the GJ exchange under anesthesia. This will allow her to continue with muscle development and hopefully give her the support needed to rehab the acute issue.
Tate continues to battle low counts and of late is really feeling the low hemoglobin. She slept till 5:30 Pm with a BP of 74/41. We’re always on high alert for infection when we start to see these numbers.
At the hospital this last week, I watched Tate take the hands of an adult employee and pray over her adult friend as she was expressing how nervous she was headed into a procedure this next week. This is a direct result of all the prayers she’s received over the years. She knows prayer works thanks to her Tribe.
