Today brought news of a second type of bacteria growing in Tate’s blood. One of her nurses lovingly called her a living Petrie dish. This one is known to be more sticky with central lines. Infectious Disease wants to wait the full 48 hours to make sure her most recent cultures don’t grow with the hope that this bacteria also will respond to the current Iv antibiotic regimen.
Nephrology came in twice today and after some tests, put to rest any worries of any acute kidney concerns. They want to trend Tate’s high blood pressures but as we’re still seeing dramatic lows and now highs, the thought is this is dysautonomia which makes it a bit more tricky to treat. I’m grateful for all the time spent in conversation with them today. I learned a lot!
The fun stuff…Spirit Halloween donated hundreds of Halloween costumes to CHC and Tate and I went down and mostly just had fun looking through them all and seeing everyone’s excitement.
Wednesday brings Bingo….Tate called numbers from Seacrest Studios.
Ruffles popped in to try on her Spider “bows.”
Tim, Grama Sandy and cousin Micaela stopped by and
Tates nurses today made her a “medical mini” kit to go with her make it mini’s. Seriously the sweetest ever!
