Lots has happened over the last week +. As usual, lots of appointments, but fun stuff too. We finally caught our every 21 day ivig infusion days outpatient so Tuesday and Wednesday this week were spent catching up with all our North Campus favorites. Tate is part of the Youth Advisory Committee for teens at the hospital which now meets at North-yay! She caught her first monthly meeting and got to see her friends and add in some new ones. This group has been a huge gift. Lauren and Pringle (childlife from North) now lead it-with other amazing folks, which adds to the fun.
Tate had her IT pump refilled. It was basically empty and alarming from within her body which was both comical in a robotic sort of way and a little disconcerting too. She’s been working extra hard for our loved Abbey in PT and is learning some amazing skills in OT..next up is sewing! (Meg is the coolest OT ever!)
Tim came down with a nasty case of shingles over a week ago which involved lots of prayers for our immunocompromised and completely unvaccinated Tate and Tim to kick it quickly. (and lots of separation.) Tate has remained chicken pox free but Tim has definitely not kicked the clingy virus quickly. As awful as it’s been for him, it’s a virus, and will eventually pass. We have received some lovely meals that have helped tremendously as everyone works to get back on their feet. Thank you so very much! We are grateful!
We had friends from our Michigan days come and stay on their way home to Africa. A huge bright spot to squeeze my dear Becky and her girls. An outdoor concert was enjoyed and we practiced making cotton candy for our church Fall festival. A fun end to a short summer.
More appointments yet this week for Tate. A more in depth medical update is coming soon.
