Day 77

Transplant +14

ICU Day 9

There was sleep last night! No hallucinations or delirium today and platelets came up overnight when instead we were anticipating a transfusion. Her ANC is still holding pretty steady, but to have platelets increase at this point is a surprise. Typically BMT patients are transfusion dependent for quite some time after engraftment. Not this kid! Tate hasn’t engrafted yet, but it appears we’re headed in a positive direction! Thanking God!

Pain was a little tougher today and especially tonight. She is almost off the precedex. We should be headed out of the ICU and back to BMT on 7 tomorrow.

Tate had music therapy today. It was magical. Tate was singing and smiling. We haven’t heard Tate really sing in months. And the smiles have been few. This was such a spirit booster for all of us. Even our sweet nurse, Kelly, was amazed by the change in Tate. (See video in the comments) Music therapy will follow Tate upstairs. It’s certain to be a favorite moving forward! She also had PT/OT today for the first time in a bit. She’s pretty wiped tonight.

Feeling grateful tonight for so many positive things. Tate was overdue for a win, and today definitely felt like one. She has a long ways to go yet with lots of potential twists and turns. But currently we sit in gratitude and celebrate the positives that came with today.
