It’s National Dog Day!
Day32:
It’s National Dog Day! Tate didn’t get to snuggle her own pups today, but Halo and Galaxy loved the Cheerios.
Tonight we learned that neither TJ, Drew, nor Keira matched with Tate. We are sad and disappointed and wishing that the rare odds that seem to continually go against Tate with these disease diagnoses would’ve flipped to offer the 25% chance that one would’ve matched. In Tates world, 25% seemed so high for something positive when she fulfills 1 in a million odds with the negative. But….we persevere and know that odds have nothing to do with Gods plan. Tate’s hematologist believes we will find a 10/10 match from the bank. 10/10 is necessary for Tate to proceed with the transplant. Want to help? If you’re 18-44, register on Bethematch.org
Good news today was the CT last night didn’t show clots. We Thank God for this! It did show extensive inflammation, bowel thickening and how that is affecting the colon, small intestine and even Urine flow out of the kidneys. We are hoping measures to calm this down will reduce pain within the next few days.
Lots of new meds today….iv steroid burst, new rheumatology infusion and new GI target steroid. Some should help quickly and some will take a month or so to evaluate. Really praying this is the right combination. It was hard to feel like we lost a month yesterday. Added some iv rescue morphine for pain as they are too concerned about cumulative effects to increase scheduled narcotics.
This means Tate still sits with pain 100% of the time.
Tate in general felt poorly today. Coloring and appetite were decreased. She slept all morning. A definite shift from lack of sleep, but a concern in a whole new direction. We are looking forward to a reset tomorrow. Thank you for the continued prayers!
