We have been here too long! Considering many BMT kids are discharged day +20 something. But….we are close…..again! The big goal has been hospital prom on this Friday the 13th. It’s not looking super positive as we’re STILL waiting on that darn J tube extension (despite literally everyone on this floor exhausting internal resources. Trina, if you’re reading this, Tate is convinced you would’ve gotten it done. )
Tate cannot be discharged on a Friday as she has to be seen in clinic the very next day. I have to complete a 24 hour independence test the day before. That pushes tomorrow to wrap up all things necessary with Independence Day Wednesday and discharge Thursday. 🫤 So….it’s more likely for discharge to take place early next week. But regardless, Tate is ready to ring that bell!
Tate checked off her final safety challenges for PT today. She was disconnected, and got out of the room on a wiggle bike. It was so so great to see her push herself to make a full lap. She followed that with pain therapy where I saw her work hard for an hour! What a difference manageable nausea makes! So grateful!
