GI appointment, Occupational therapy this morning. Upper endoscopy and knee nerve ablation under anesthesia this afternoon/evening. A good, but exhausting day.

Tate made bead bracelets with Meg for OT….more on that to come! GI appointment is always a mix. We love our GI team so much and they are incredibly patient with all the ups and downs. There’s still some pretty big hurdles to work through to get rid of this central line. There’s chatter about TPN again, but we’re going to do everything possible first.

Our GI Dr’s have a special room for their patients to wait in during procedures. It's where they come to deliver the 'news.' In the past, we’ve never had anything good come from scopes. we went into this scope today really knowing (as much as you can) that there was no massive ulcers, major tissue Inflammation, bleeding or infections. The pathology from biopsies is what we’re after. But I walked into that room and emotions of fear and pain washed over me. I had to remind myself that it was not going to be like the half dozen other scopes previously that kept Tate inpatient for months on constant narcotic drips and ultimately helped lead us to transplant. You think you’ve dealt with things and realize it’s all buried pretty deep. And you know what? Those irrational fears weren’t realized. Her Dr. Came back and put one sheet of pictures in front of me….one! And I could see instantly that nothing looked super off. He said everything looked “mostly normal” and we wait for pathology. I truly expected this and can give thanks for the expected!

Tates gernicular block on her knees so far is different than anticipated. Tate is actually in a lot of pain. We are praying this is a normal variation and not a symptom of something amiss. As is usual for Tate, she rocks anesthesia and a s grateful for the “nap with a break from pain!”
