This next post was going to be all about A Grateful Harvest, which is way more fun. But instead, Tate is back at Children’s.
The Gala was amazing! Tate did have a fever most of the day Saturday and into Sunday morning. She wanted nothing more than to do what she came for and stood in front of those guests to share the impact Round Up has made on her and our family. Most were none the wiser.
If I was a better rule follower, I would’ve driven her through the mountains that night straight to the hospital. But…I’m not. And lately, the battle between my heart and my head has been fierce to keep Tate outpatient. By Sunday morning her fever broke and so, also against protocol, we went home. We both needed a nap.
Monday brought labs and with a lot of bargaining, outpatient blood cultures. A call this morning at 5:30 AM to tell me they’re positive and we’re back at Childrens.
Tate really does look pretty good and feels okay. We’ve been battling her blood pressure so I knew something was up but it seems the bigger issue is her bone marrow so we may still get to go home and come back for a hematology appointment this week. She’s getting antibiotics now. Word is getting around just how hard I fight to keep her outpatient and how frequently I say no to admitting her (Not sure it’s a good look yet.) But home is healing.
