We’ve had a disappointing twist. Tate is being airlifted to Children’s momentarily from camp. She is stable, albeit absolutely heartbroken. The concern is another blood infection. The fear we all held headed into camp with severe neutropenia.
There’s been lots of tears this morning. But I had the beautiful privilege of “hearing” Tate go from gut wrenching sobs to giggles through the efforts of all the beautiful staff that are providing our girl with not just medical care, but SO MUCH LOVE. And you bet God made sure Ruffles and Tori were there….their first year at camp!
One of Children’s own hem/onc Drs cared for Tate, got her on IV antibiotics right away and I couldn’t be more grateful for the extension of Children’s care and expertise all the way to Camp. Tim and I are on our way out of the mountains hoping to get to Tate soon. I think her broken heart needs the most prayers today. The disappointment is palpable.
